We map volcanoes and mountains to help find missing people.
Topo combines LiDAR, satellite imagery, and drone surveys into accurate, current maps of volcanic and alpine terrain. Your team sees every ridge, ravine, and hazard before it steps onto the ground — and reaches people sooner.

Six tools, one map.
Everything a team needs to plan a search, work together on the ground, and finish the job.
Maps that update when the terrain changes
Topo merges LiDAR, satellite stereo, and drone photogrammetry into contour maps at survey accuracy. After an eruption, landslide, or melt season, the map is rebuilt and sent to every device.
Hazard layers
Lahar channels, rockfall zones, and crevasse fields, each scored by risk, so your team knows what it is walking into before it leaves base camp.
Smaller areas to search
Models of where lost people usually travel rank the ground to cover first, which cuts a typical search area by about 70%.
Team positions with no cell service
Locations are sent over LoRa radios and drone repeaters, so everyone stays coordinated when there is no signal.
Maps that work offline
Download full 3D terrain, hazard layers, and mission data to any device before you leave. Everything still works with no connection.
Drone sync
Flight plans, orthomosaics, and thermal captures appear on the same map within minutes of landing. There is no exporting or converting to do.
The same map at every stage of a search.
Plan at base, follow the team in the field, and keep working without a connection — all from one screen.

How it works
Three steps from the first report to teams moving on the ground with the right map.
Collect
Drones, satellites, and field teams send terrain data into one feed — every flight, every pass, every survey.
Combine
The software reconciles the sources into one current map and flags what changed overnight, along with what it means for the search.
Deploy
The map goes out to phones, tablets, and beacons, so everyone works from the same picture of the ground.
Numbers from real searches.
Every figure below comes from operations carried out in bad weather, on terrain that had changed since the last survey.
What teams say after using Topo
Incident commanders, volcanologists, and mountain guides, in their own words.
“Topo cut our time to locate by 38% on the Rainier operation last October. The predicted search corridors put us within two hundred metres of the subject on the first sweep. In twenty years of incident command, this is the most useful tool I have used.”
“We watched a lahar channel form across our models in near real time. Decisions that used to take an hour of debate now take minutes.”
“I plan every route in Topo before I rope up. The hazard layers make it easy to explain risk to clients in plain terms.”

Common questions
What teams ask before they put a map in front of their people.
Yes. Maps, hazard layers, and mission data are downloaded to your device before you leave base camp. Team positions are sent over LoRa radios and drone repeaters, so coordination continues when the phone has no bars.
A 40-minute drone flight is processed and sent to every team member's device in under 18 minutes. Satellite passes refresh wider coverage daily, so nobody plans on a map that is out of date.
Yes. GeoJSON, shapefile, KML, GeoTIFF, and WMS/WMTS all import directly. Topo aligns your archive with the current terrain and shows where it has shifted.
Any LoRa radio on the 868/915 MHz bands. Topo pairs out of the box with common SAR radios, Garmin inReach, and our $49 beacon. There are no tower costs and no subscription per device.
Topo is SOC 2 Type II certified, supports SSO/SAML, includes NIMS-aligned mission workflows, audit logs, and on-premises deployment on the Command plan. We are listed on several procurement vehicles — ask us which.
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Capture streams are zero-retention by default, subject locations are never used for training, and you choose EU or US storage. When a mission closes, its data is deleted with it.
